Baghdad High

August 6th, 2008

I just finished watching Baghdad High on HBO. it is a documentary of 4 boys struggle to finish their senior year of high school while dealing with the violence in Iraq. I must say watching this made me understand a lot more of how it is in that country. Its a shame when kids have to fear for their life when they just want to walk across the street to a friends house. There was one boy Hayder who used music as his therapy, i related to him the most mainly because of that fact, I believe I’d be doing the same if I was in that situation.

I suggest anyone who can to watch Baghdad High, if you did let me know what you thought about it. Learn more about the film and watch the trailer here

I am in need of some talented male and female singers to record tracks that I have written. I will start working closely with producers in the near future and recording will be done in a high quality studio. In return for you doing this for me, you will have access to the studio to record your own personal music and get it mixed for free. For more info or if your interested in the job contact me at feliciaceo@officialsme.com, serious inquiries only.

Ima try something out real quick and give out some business tips for aspiring artist, producers, and so on. Just things I learn as I go on.

1) Never trust a verbal agreement, if its not written in paper its gonna be pretty hard to prove in court.

2) Singers get a manager! you need someone to help you with the legal aspects of the business until you get that deal

3) Knowledge is power, don’t go into this business not knowing at least the basics. I suggest getting All You Need To Know About The Music Business by Donald S. Passman, it helped me with a lot. And if books are not enough try taking some music business classes online or at a local community college if they have it.
4) Get your music on the net. Sites like myspace, soundclick and imeem are great ways to get your music spread across the world. The industry is slowly turning digital don’t be left behind!

5) Be Yourself!! This is more of a pet peeve for me, there are so many artist coming out now trying to ride the coat tails of the next artist, or saying they sound like this person. Believe me if you come out trying to be something your not then the truth will be revealed eventually (Rick Ross).

Hope this helps, more up some other time.

Though this sounds so strange coming from Miss Knowles, I respect her for speaking her mind. Not a lot of females do that in the music industry now a days.

I jacked this from Concreteloop by the way

The Dark Knight

July 28th, 2008

So I went to the movies yesterday and saw The Dark Knight. If you haven’t seen it you’ve probably had people telling you to go see it. Well believe the hype and GO SEE IT. This movie was crazy, the actors did their thing, Heath Ledger(R.I.P) stole the show as joker. The movie was about 3 hours long yet I didnt want it to end, I plan on seeing this again very soon.
